Puppy Application Now Available For Download

Hi again everyone! In my exuberance to get all the details done I  failed to thank everyone for their amazing patience while we have had to work through major life changes in the last few weeks.  I'm now focusing exclusively on getting the pups to their new homes.. Who needs clean  laundry anyway? I've placed the puppy application up on a file sharing site. You would be surprised at how many days it took to get the application created. This link will take you to a site called "mediafire" where you simply click on the box to download the file. The form is a Microsoft Word (.doc) document.       Potential Puppy Owner Questionnaire

If you have any problems, please email me at oldtimescotchcollies@gmail.com if you would like to speak with me directly you can reach me at area code: 650 phone number 534.7935. I'm working hard at getting everything ready for our little ones to go to new homes .

I've had some folks ask about shipping puppies. I'm willing to ship puppies however it will be on individual basis.

IT'S TIME! Puppies are ready for placement!

We are so thrilled to see what amazing dogs that this litter has presented. When you see the pictures and video you will agree too!  I've put up the links below for the pictures, with each pups name so you can tell them apart. We hadn't intended on giving them names but Bonnie and Don are soo good at picking names to match their pet it was irrestistable to just use the names they've been calling them. I'm really interested in giving them their official kennel names and if anyone would rather do their own just mention it on the application form. If you choose to keep their temporary names that's cool, but of course, they will learn any name you give them

I've emailed out the application form for the puppies to anyone who I have signed up on the blog. In addition, I'm going through my email inquiries but I'm sure to miss a few. If you do not have an application in your inbox right now, please send an email to oldtimescotchcollies@gmail.com and I will reply immediately with an application form. Pups will be placed based on matching the puppy to the family wants/needs. Each of these guys is unique, and each day you get to see more and more of their individuality come through. They will all be gentle souls, but some more than others. I will begin placing them around Sunday.  Please do not send money with your application.

Families who apply for puppies will be notified within 24 hours whether their application will match any puppies that meet their wants/needs. Most likely sooner.

The pictures and video's I've posted today are CURRENT. I will eventually add the images of them between 3 and 7 weeks later on for historical purposes.

We get so many people stopping by the farm for veggies who fall in love with their beauty and gentleness. They hate to hear that there is a waiting list!

They had their first shots, got wormed and were health certified by the vet last Friday. They've been thoroughly evaluated for their eyes, teeth and general health. In addition, they will receive microchips before going to their homes. We'll be using a company that requires only a one time activation fee.
One amazing and exciting part of our litter is how the OTSC heritage is present in the litter itself. You can see that while every pup has the mannerisms and personalities of their parents, it's so easy to recognize "types". These types would have been pulled and eventually developed into their own breeds from the Old-Time Scotch Collies of over a hundred years ago. Many of the pups are 'typey' and as far as looks go, will grow to appear like some of those breeds. 2 pups fit into what you commonly would consider a BC (Angus/Sarge). We also have one with AS characteristics (Bingo) and yet others share the looks of your typical ES (Heidi/Charlie). This is how the litters of the typical scotch collie pups should appear in my mind. We have two males who are close to the spitting image of our Oberon at their age (Dash/Trouble).

My biggest challenge has been deciding which puppies we will be keeping for ourselves...

I've uploaded over 200 pictures of them taken this weekend!
Here's a slideshow of July 2, 2011 link, but use the links below if you want to view each picture in your own time. It's pretty obvious that it was over a hundred degrees that day!

Pups at Vet July 1
It might take awhile to figure out if you have never viewed pictures on Google Photos before but it's pretty  simple. I chose to do it this way to save time in getting the pictures out to everyone.

I'm working on uploading the video footage, we have over 20 minutes of raw footage of them resting and at play..

PupDate on May 15th Litter - Week 3

I'm so sorry that we missed last weeks PupDate, but we've finally got a couple of pictures to share of our 3 week old babies! Things have been impossibly crazy between 9 newborn pups, Bonnie & Don getting the summer garden in the ground, my husband & I moving after being in the same place for ten years, and Bonnie's daughter's family moving to South Carolina all happened at the same time. In fact our moving trucks showed up the same day (today) for both of us. So we couldn't even help each other get ready for our moves. Phew! My feet are killing me and every bone in my body is creaking but I'm glad the hardest part is now over and I can take some time to focus on working with the pups!
I am so sorry to those who I haven't responded to yet! Hang in there folks I will eventually get a note out or give a call to ALL those who are interested. Once you have all your basic questions answered and are ready to apply for getting a puppy you'll need to fill out the Questionnaire Form which I'm working on and will post here for download next week at our Week 4 Pupdate.
I'll be posting a Top Hill Puplication that should answer all the basic questions about our puppy policies as well as a copy of our Potential Puppy Owner Questionnaire for those ready to start the process to getting one of our little champs. Preference for pups will go to those living nearer to us; however do not let that stop you since we have so few farming families left in or state. We've had inquiries from Homesteader's and Small Farmers from all over the country and are willing to ship the pups provided we work out all the details first. Our puppy owners will become part of the Top Hill Farm family and we will be in contact with the puppy families all throughout the dog's lives. We'll be asking for Hip/Eye screen at 2 years of age, plus a promise to wait until the dog clears those screens before breeding. Some pups may end up not being suitable for breeding so if you are considering it please let us know so we can screen appropriately. Our puppy owners will have a tremendous amount of support from Top Hill, which will all be explained next week. Each pup will have: complete vet check with preliminary eye check, appropriate shots, wormed, lifelong (no-fee) microchip , and pre-registration with Old Time Scotch Collie Assn.

Bonnie and Don were able to get some quick pictures while building out the new puppy enclosure and moving the pups out yesterday, at 3 weeks. We are so proud of these dogs, they are going to be exactly what we were looking for in our breeding pool.
Take a look at Prospero! He's definitely earned his name that is certain. He's clearly the most prosperous in the in the litter shot. There some pups missing from the first shot, but have no fear, more pics.  are coming up tomorrow. It looks like we'll have sizes and colors for everyone.

I'd better get some sleep as I'll be heading over to Top Hill in the morning to start getting pictures and videos and I simply can't wait!

Nine Fat Healthy Puppies Born on Sunday May 15

Announcing the "Fly Me to the Moon" Litter!!

Top Hill's Just Jenny's pups were born right on time starting  6:34 am on Sunday morning they started arriving and were finished by around 11am. Nine fat and sassy pups were coming so fast mom didn't had a hard time keeping up with the cleaning. Every pup has survived easily and with only mom caring for them. Jenny has made a genuinely perfect mother, as predicted. We waited until she was mature enough to handle it and we're glad we did. She's helped care for several other little babies in the past including an unplanned kitten litter and her natural motherly nature has always shown through.  Names are only temporary. The pups will have weekly updates and video's posted so be sure to sign up for all of our updates. We will determine which pups will be available for adoption in the coming weeks. As they mature we will watch each one carefully and evaluate each pups temperament. These pups will be ideal farm collies as well as family pets. Their size will be between 34-45lbs as adults. Our dogs are ideal for active families as well as farmers.

Here is a preview of the puppies at Two Days Old: don't trust the weight listed on the scale as the pups were wiggly and momma wanted those babies BACK..NOW!

Jenny's Pregnancy Calendar: Follow Along with us!
Well it took me long enough but I finally figured out how to load up a google.doc onto the blog. The above link is a little late but still fun. We are already on our last week and Jenny is quite miserable. She may birth a little early as she keeps checking out her whelping pen and readusting all the blankets around. We can't wait as the excitement is growing and the waiting list grows daily. I'm heading over there tomorrow to get some picks of her in 'full blossom' as well as have her xrays done. The garden is going in, and luckily we are in a bit of a slow time this week so we have plenty of time to keep a close watch. Watch for future video's of babies coming soon!
